Queen of the West

Queen of the West

Lodalskåpa is the highest nunatak on the Norwegian glacier Jostedalsbreen. It is located on the border between the municipalities of Stryn and Luster in Vestland county, Norway. It lies within JostedalsbreenNational Park and is 2083 meters high.

The mountain is one of the most photogenic mountains in Norway in my opinion, but it is quite a job to get to the top. Like most big mountains it is best viewed from a little distance, but I still had to ski to the top of the glacier cap to capture this angle of what is commonly known as the “Queen of the West” among mountaineers.
